Environmental Technician


Design, plan or perform duties in the prevention, control and remediation of environmental health hazards utilizing various engineering disciplines. Work can include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties for this job include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develop and maintain a management information system which identifies the location of hazardous materials in all facilities.
  2. Update and deliver employee training programs related to hazardous materials and waste.
  3. Supervisor work of outside contractors involved at Abbyland Foods, Inc.
  4. Be the company liaison between Abbyland and the DNR/EPA.
  5. Maintain accurate records related to chemical inventories, complaint investigations and shipments of hazardous wastes.
  6. Maintain operation and inspection logs.
  7. Gather data and prepare all DNR/EPA reports.
  8. Provide coordination with regulatory agencies, address all permit requirements.  Work with outside consultants to ensure compliance with all regulations.
  9. Recommend and coordinate development of any environmental programs needed at all Abbyland Facilities.  

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.; B.S.0 in a related discipline from a four-year college or university strongly desired. One year related experience or training strongly desired.

Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands
The employee (by themselves) must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
