Maintenance Technician

1st / 2nd Shift

Summary
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor stems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties for this job include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Examines form and texture of parts of devices and control instructions
  • Installs special functional and structural parts and devices
  • Adjusts functional parts and devices and control instruments
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts
  • Installs special functional and structural parts and devices
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Starts devices to test their performance
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines
  • Repairs electrical equipment

Education & Experience
Associate's degree (A.A.;A.S.) in related discipline from a two-year college or technical school is desired. Two years related experience or training.

Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
Driver's License is required.

Physical Demands
The employee (by themselves) must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally 100 or more. The employee must be able to withstand walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and walking on roofs.

Work Environment
Must be able to work in any weather condition and cold environments.
